Lindsey and Lucas first met at a bar through a mutual friend in 2011, not knowing that they actually grew up two blocks away from each other! With a five-year age difference, they were never in school together and had never crossed paths until that night. After they met, Lindsey stalked Lucas on Facebook and about nine months later, they were officially together!
We asked Lindsey when she knew Lucas was the one and her answer was simple—that there wasn’t a single moment but a collection of a thousand!
Once we decided to move in together after a year and a half of dating, I knew I could spend my life with him… mostly because he likes our home to be just as clean as I do.
Lindsey loves that Lucas is really handy and can build almost anything she finds on Pinterest! He even built almost everything at their wedding!
He is supportive in all my endeavors, he is my favorite travel companion and he has a pretty face!
When we asked Lucas what his favorite things about his wife are…he was just as sweet!
Her compassionate, self-aware personality; her continued effort to be the best person she can be; her butt.
On Lindsey’s 29th birthday, Lucas proposed to her alone in their kitchen. She didn’t have just a birthday to celebrate, but also the beginning of a new adventure together.
Lucas is shy so doing anything other than this would have been uncharacteristic.
When it came time to begin planning the wedding, Lindsey already had The Haight chosen as their venue! The both of them loved the industrial and urban look and feel of the space.
Also the location, being fifteen minutes away, made it easy for us and our guests!
The best part of the wedding day for Lindsey was reading her vows to Lucas and in close second was the dance party in the bridal suite prior to the ceremony with her “I DO CREW!” And the best part of the day for Lucas was their first dance!
Lindsey and Lucas’s advice for newly engaged couples is to don’t let others determine the details of your day.
Dare to be different or unconventional, think outside of the box!
They also advise to try to plan everything well in advance in order to be conscious, present and mindful on your day. And make sure to at least hire a wedding planner the day of!
